PAPA RECIPE - Noble Rot Lifting Ampoule

 Bought with my own money

Papa Recipe has been on my radar for so long. I've read so many positive opinions about their products, that I just couldn't wait any longer and got myself two pieces, one being Eggplant cleanser and the other this Noble Rot Ampoule.

This one is anti-aging ampoule, containing Botrytis Cinerea as main ingredient. Botrytis Cinerea (or Noble Rot) is a grey fungus, that is affecting wine grapes. Grapes infested with it and picked during that time produce fine and concentraded sweet wine. Here it's responisble for anti-aging purposes and revitilising the skin.

Other notable ingredients are: Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Adenosine, Arganiane.

It doesn't contain Fragrance and Essential Oils but there's Alcohol. But... I always check the ingredient list on the package of product, because some products are being reformulated and some websites don't state the INCI correctly. But the list on the outer cartonbox package was only in korean and I couldn't find this ampoule on the official Papa Recipe website, so I'm not entirely sure if those ingredients are correct and if there is alcohol in it or not.

This ampoule comes in 30ml bottle with semi automatic dropper, that takes the ampoule when you twist it off. Frankly I hate that type of droppers. I've tried some ampoules with it and all took only half of the dropper automaticly. The same happens here. The other thing is that it spits around when you push the dispenser and it's hard to apply it directly to your skin.

The texture of this ampule is another thing worth mentioning, because it has two layers: oily and watery and you have to shake it before use for them to mix. The mixture is a bit thicker than water and it smells like alcohol.

My experience

I was expecting wow effect but it didn't live up to my expectations. First, even though you shake it for the layers to mix, it still leaves greasy residue after application. Texture seems watery, but it takes so much time to absorb. My skin felt oily after and I don't like this feeling. Another thing is this awful alcohol scent, which is very present. I don't see any special benefits of this ampule, beside that it's hydrating and nourishing. But there are more things I don't like about it that I won't repurchase it. I think it will suit people with dry skin better.
