Bought with my own money
Since trying the sample of Skin1004 famous Centella Ampoule, this brand has been on my radar and I slowly have built my collection of their products. This peeling serum was one of my first purchases and I don't know why I put it back to my skincare box. Recently I've been making some arrangements there and found it. Glad I did, because the expiration date was slowly aproaching so I needed to open it fast. So I did and here are my impressions.
This serum is a strong exfoliator, containing 17% of Glycolic Acid, as well as Salicylic Acid and Glucanolactone, both for exfoliation. Other worth mentioning ingredients are Ceramide NP and Niacinamide. It containst a lot of antioxidants but there's no Alcohol, Essential Oils or Fragrance. Due to very high percantage of actives, this is a wash-off serum, that you put on your face for about a minute and than wash off. Slight burning or stinging is normal reaction to high amount of AHA.
It has deep, red color and smells very chemical. (If you tried COSRX AHA7 Whitehead Liquid it smells exacty the same). I'm not fan of fragrance or perfuming ingredients in skincare, but in this case it would be nice that this original scent was covered with something smelling pretty.
My experiance
Frankly, I needed to get used to this serum. I have resilient skin, it's gets irritated very rarely so I can experiment and use wide range of products. And depite knowing that stinging and burning is normal reaction to high percentage of AHA it took me a while to adjust to it. I also hate the smell of it. But it delivers! My skin is soft and clean and plump after using it. So it gets its job done.
Unfortunately I think I wouldn't repurchase this serum. We have so many different exfoliants on the market, that I'm sure I would find something better than this one.
Lastly, I checked official Skin1004 website (both US and KR) and this serum is gone. I guess they discontinued it, just like all of the Zombie Beauty Line, that contained some wash off masks as well.
