Gifted by go.picky app and Plodica in exchange for review
I haven't tried any product from Plodica yet. I remember there was one Picky giveaway, that was hosted by this brand but I didn't win back then. So I was really happy when I received this product to try it on.
This one is a chemical sunscreen, containing 4 chemical sunscreen agents (Dimethylo Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbuthylphenol, Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone). Key ingredients here are Watermelon Fruit Extract (great natural anti-oxidant, protects the skin from UV-induced damage), Nelumbo Nucifera Callus Culture Extract and Magnolia Officinalis Bark Extract (both strenghtens skin barrier). It also contains a lot of hydrating ingredients such as: Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolized Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate. It's free of Alcohol, EOs and Fragrance. It has white, light, creamy texture with no scent. It comes in 50ml plastic tube. It has SPF 30 PA++++.
My experiance
When I first opened this and did a patch test on my hand, I was sure I'm going to love it. The texture seemed so light and fast absorbing. But it proved me wrong. It behaves quite differently on my face. First, it's very moisturizing. I used it on my daily moisturizer and I could feel it was too much. So next time, I was testing it without one. And still it was a bit too much for my summer oily skin. Despite light texture, this is actually quite rich and "moisture" in the product name is no lie. It works as an moisturizer and a quite rich one. So for this time of the year it's defenitely way to much for my skin. But I will be back to it in winter time.
Next thing I want to talk about is level of protection. This is only SPF 30 and I prefer SPF 50. So this might not be best for everyone, especially if you're looking for higher level of protection in summer. I work from home, so I'll be testing it in winter again from home and I think it'll be enough.
Lastly, reading watermelon in the products name I was sure that it'll have some fruity scent. To my surprise it's scentless! And I'm loving it for that!
Overall, this sunscreen will suit those with dry skin more in my opinion. Despite light, creamy texture it's pretty rich and way to much for my oily skin. But I'm loving the ingredients and the texture of it so definitely will give this one another shot in wintertime!
