NEOGEN - Bio-peel+ Gauze Peeling Wine

Bought with my own money

Since getting into k-beauty I've dreamt of trying these pads. There are three kinds: Green Tea, Wine and Lemon. They were so popular back then, during the physical, sugar scrub exfoliation era. Harsh gauze peeling in form of pad was so innovative and successful. But since than we know much more about exfoliation and physical one is not recommended in favour of chemical one. Neogen upgarded those pads, giving them new package appearance, adding AHA and BHA. But the old ones are still available to purchase, being one of the most renowned Neogen products. So how do these age? I was a bit disappointed with these, so let's dive into review.

These pads are advertised as hypoallergenic cotton pads with dual texture. One side is mesh structured, harsh gauze side for exfoliation, while the other is soft cotton embossed side.  It suppose to gently exfoliate dead skin cells, excess sebum and impurities and softly wipe exfoliated skin away.

Key ingredients in this one are  Wine Exract and Resveratrol for fighting free radials and skin aging prevention as well as maintaining healthy skin. Other worth mentioning ingredients are Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid  (PHA) for gentle exfoliation and some plants extract. This one is free of Alcohol and Essential Oils but contains Fragrance and some colorants.

These have beautiful purple color (due to colorants) and pretty scent of sweet grapes. It really feels natural.

These comes in 200ml (30 pads) plastic jar without tweezers.

My experiance

First, these are exfoliating pads but I didn't expect the gauze side to be that harsh. When you massage your skin with it feels like physical exfoliation pretty much. It's not that gentle. But you can also skip that part and wipe your face with the soft side, with chemical PHA exfoliant, that the pad is soaked in. As much as I appreciate the choice we are given, PHA are too weak for my skin so I use gauze side, which feels harsh. I like how my skin feels after, soft and clean. I also like the sweet grapes scent, which reminds me of grapes in my parents garden, so these despite fragrance smell pretty natural.

These pads promise some additonal effects like anti-aging and anit-oxidation. But frankly, I haven's spotted any of that. These are wash-off exfoliation pads and they work that way so I wouldn't expect any other benefit.

Overall I like these but it's not a big wow like it was couple of years ago. Nowadays I prefer chemical exfoliaton over physical one, but if you want to try these out of curiosity and you like some physical exfoliants, these are good to go.
