Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off was one of the first K-Beauty products I've tried and one that got me into this business. It will always have special place in my heart, even though we have better exfoliating option nowadays. This mask also got me interested in other ones, that Skinfood released. I've tried all of them and it wasn't always the best. Today I wanna talk about Pear Mint Food Mask, that was addition to two original ones (Honey and Strawberry), making it 5 different problem solving wash-off masks.
Pear Mint Food Mask is a cleanse and refresh clay-type mask. It is advertised as nourishing and cooling heated skin mask. It's suppose to clear impurities and excess sebum for making skin clean and soft. It contains 10% Pear Extract, 5% Mint Complex and Kaolin as key ingredients. There are no other worth mentioning ingredients and the list is full of potentially comedogenic ingredients. It's free of Alcohol and Essential Oils but it does contain Fragrance as well as colorant. It has creamy texture with greenish color and has strong artificial scent that a bit reminds of mint but it's not exactly it. It comes in 120ml plastic jar without spatula.
My experiance
I really wanted to like this one but I just can't. Cleasing mask seems like a nice idea to deep cleanse your skin from time to time but this felt more like an exfoliator. It's creamy and easy to put on (a bit more difficult to wash off entirely) but when massaged and washed off you can feel a little sharp bits that reminds me of something like physical exfoliator. I didn't notice any cooling effect when using this. Also the scent is so strong and feels artificial and it didn't add any pleasure when using this (other masks smells better). The good thing is, this cleanses well, leaving my skin clean and soft. But you can achieve this by just double cleanse or other not so smelly and sharp mask.
Overall, as much as I love Skinfood Masks it's a no from me. I think there are better option on the market and this one is nothing special.
