NEOGEN - Real Polish White Rice & Sugar

Bought with my own money

Neogen seems to be not my brand. I don't have luck with them and so far everything I've tried was somehow mediocre (except for Vitamin C serum, which was okey). This was another product that didn't work as I would expect.

Sugar scrubs are not popular anymore, we have better exfoliation options, mostly chemical nowadays. I bought this sugar peeling a while ago and hoping it would suit my needs.
This one is advertised as mild., gentle facial scrub with fine particles of Real White Sugar, that gently removes skin dead cells. Rice Extract, Vitamin Tree Fruit Extract and Glutathione come together to creat radiant glow.

Let's check ingredients first. The key ingredients are (like in the description) Sucrose (25%), Rice Extract (12,6ppm), Glutatione and Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil (called Vitamin Tree but we have oil not fruit extract). Other worth mentioning ingredients are: Ivy Leaf/Stem Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizated and Zinc Oxide. It's free of Alcohol, Essential Oils and Fragrance. It has lighter, more runny texture compared to other sugar scrubs, with very tiny sugar particles and smells sweet like sugar. It comes in 100g plastic jar with spatula.

My experience

This scrub is advertised as mild and gentle but like any other sugar scrub it's just not. It contains smaller sugar particles but they do feel abrasive and scratchy and that's how it is with sugar scrubs, they just can't be mild. So I find it confusing but that's not the first scrub that calls itself mild. Another thing is upon application and massaging it gives me this warmth sensation that I simply don't like. If feels like there's something wrong and I always wanted to wash it off quickly only to find out my skin is soft and clean and looks great. But the most annoying thing with this scrub was that after washing it off it left this oily/greasy residue and I needed foam cleanser to wash it off. It does contain some oils and it emulsifies when added water but it was annyoing to the point I changed my routine for exfoliating night, so I didn't have to triple cleanse my face.
Good thing was it was working and leaving my skin soft and clean. It didn't irritate or burn my skin. But the whole using experience was just not for me.

Overall I don't like it. First, I'm done with sugar scrubs (I have two left - Klairs and I'm From Fig mask). We have wide and better selection of exfoliating products, that are mild indeed and effective. But if you still want to try sugar peeling there are better options on the market, that won't leave you with this warmth feeling and triple cleansing.
