SKIN1004 - Poremizing Quick Clay Stick Mask

Gifted by go.picky app and Skin1004 in exchange for reveiw

Korean skincare is always surprising me with their new ideas and innovations. Clay mask in a stick? Who would've thought... I like trying new things and since I've seen this one, I wanted badly to try it. But sometimes these innovations are not the best and as much as I love Skin1004 this one is a no from me.

This clay mask is advertised as smooth mask with 5 kinds of clays and Read Bean powder to soak up excess of sebum and thight enlarged pores. It's best for oily, normal and combination skin types.

Let's talk ingredients first. This is a clay mask so obviously clays are the key ingredients (we have Kaolin, Bentonite, Illite and Montmorillonite here, Skin1004 advertises it as 5 kinds of clays mask but on the list there are only four) and Mineral Salt and Centella Asiatica Extract, which are common to the whole line. Other worth mentioning ingredients are Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract and Calamine. Actually INCI is pretty short and it's free of Alcohol, Fragrance and Essential Oils but it does contain colorant. It comes in 27g stick, it has pink color and light, smooth texture.

My experiance

When thinking about clay mask in a stick, the texture is the most important thing. Thick to keep it all together on one hand and smooth and soft for easy application on the other. And Skin1004 did that perfectly. This mask is soft and easy to use, applying is very smooth without any rubbing or harsh feeling. I also like simple INCI and that it is scentless. But good things end here.
The main issue I have with this mask is again the texture. I like my clay mask to be a bit more dense and I prefer to put thicker layer on my skin. But that's just my preference and I know some of you probably have different. My issue is that it won't let me put thicker layer. No matter how much I used it on one part of my face it was always the same very, very thin layer. It is very soft and slides easily so I just couldn't apply the amount I wanted to. Because of the thin layer it also dries very quickly (Skin1004 advises to rinse it off after 3 to 5 minutes).
The other thing is that it is so small! 27g is 1/3 or less of average clay mask. I used it like 5 or 6 times and it was gone. Quick mask name fits perfectly here.

Overall I don't see this mask for regular use. I think it would be great for people, who travel a lot and want to use mask from time to time. This one is compact and small so it won't take much of space. But for home user like me I don't see any benefits greater than any clay mask in regular package. It's just surprising but useless innovation for me.
