VEGREEN - Intensive Vitamin C 20% Ampoule

Gifted by the brand

Vegreen is one of those brands that keeps their products simple yet highly effective. I love simple INCI lists with only the essential ingredients, and I've tried several of their products, all of which I enjoyed. So, when Vegreen asked me to try their new (at the time) Vitamin C serum, I was happy to do so. They were kind enough not only to send me the serum but also to let me choose one additional product, and I picked the Reishi Serum since I’d heard a lot of good things about it.

Vegreen’s Vitamin C serum is a waterless formula, which means the serum feels oily. This is supposed to make the formula more stable, but unfortunately, my skin rarely agrees with oily serums.

Let's start with ingredients list. As mentioned, it's very simple, with only 10 ingredients in total. The key ones are: 14% Ascorbic Acid and 6% Ethyl Ascorbyl Ether, making up the 20% Vitamin C that’s mentioned in the serum’s name. Other noteworthy ingredients include Alpha-Bisabolol and Centella Asiatica Extract. It’s free from Alcohol, Essential Oils, and Fragrance. The texture is light yet oily, with the typical subtle scent of pure Vitamin C serum.

My Experience

As I said, my skin doesn't often get along with oily serums, and this one was no exception. While I do appreciate simple INCI lists, the texture of this serum became a bit of a nightmare for me. Even with a very small amount—just one or two drops—it didn’t absorb quickly and left a sticky layer. It was hard to pair it with my other skincare products due to that stickiness. Eventually, I moved it to my evening routine because it took too long to absorb in the morning.

Overall, this serum wasn't for me. I think people with normal to dry skin would benefit from it more and fully appreciate the formula. I wouldn’t recommend it for those with oily or combination skin types.
