Gifted by Picky app and brand
I won this cream along with the snail ampoule in a Picky giveaway. At the time, I was still an active user of the app but didn’t know much about the Dr.G brand. However, I had seen this cream frequently on my social media feeds, so I was excited to take part in the giveaway—and even more thrilled when I won! All the reviews I had read were so positive, praising how lightweight this cream was and how much it benefitted the skin. I was so hyped that I opened it immediately once I received it. And that’s when the first disappointment hit: it was lightweight, yes—but also sticky and not very absorbent. Those were my first impressions, which I also shared in my initial Picky review. I didn’t reach for this cream much afterward, until recently when I decided to give it another try. I moved it to my evening routine because of the tackiness, and in the morning, I was amazed by the results.
With that slightly long introduction out of the way, let’s dive into the full review, as I’ve just finished the jar—and my final thoughts are quite different from my first impression.
According to Dr.G, this cream is a lightweight gel-cream designed to hydrate the skin without clogging pores. It’s supposed to soothe and repair the skin using Centella Asiatica extract and its active components—all without any stickiness.
Let's check the ingredients list. The INCI list is simple and free of Alcohol, Fragrance or Essential Oils. However, the key ingredients listed by the brand are actually found near the bottom of the list: Centella Asiatica Extract, Madecassoside, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, and Madecassic Acid. Alongside these, you'll also find Apple Fruit Extract and Epigallocatechin Gallate (a standout ingredient—one of the most potent polyphenols, and an excellent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic agent). Notable ingredients also include Niacinamide (high on the list), Panthenol (mid-list), and Beta-Glucan for extra hydration. Overall, it's quite an impressive ingredient list.
This cream comes in a 70ml plastic jar with a spatula. It has a gel-cream texture and no noticeable scent.
My experience
As I mentioned at the beginning, my first impression wasn’t great. I expected a light, fast-absorbing cream, but what I got was a tacky finish that didn’t work well in my morning routine. However, once I switched to using it in the evening—when I don’t mind a bit of stickiness in the final step of my skincare—I was blown away by the results.
In the morning, my skin looked hydrated, supple, and over time I noticed significant improvement in my blemishes. They healed faster, and my skin looked more radiant and glowy. Ultimately, I give this cream a 9/10 because of the results it delivered. I really liked it, and the stickiness became much less of an issue considering the visible benefits.
Overall, I recommend giving this cream a try for all skin types. It’s amazing for soothing and blemish care, while also being hydrating and adding a beautiful glow to the skin. However, despite the lightweight texture, it may leave a tacky finish—as it did in my case—which might not work for everyone. But if you can get past the tackiness, or simply use it in your evening routine, it’s totally worth it because the results speak for themselves.
