Bought with my own money
When SKIN1004 initially released their new (at that time) Poremizing Line, it was all over my social media, and I quickly got hyped to try it out. Not only did the beautifully pink packaging immediately catch my attention, but the fact that this line was designed specifically for oily skin made me even more eager to check it out. The Poremizing line focuses on enlarged or clogged pores, excess sebum, and overall skin texture improvements through gentle exfoliation, oil control, and softening the appearance of pores. The key ingredients found in all the products are Himalayan Pink Salt and Centella Asiatica Extract.
As always, let’s start by looking at what the brand claims about the Poremizing Cream. According to SKIN1004, this is a lightweight gel cream that provides instant cooling and deep hydration, leaving the skin with a smooth and dewy finish. Aloe Vera and Adenosine are said to improve skin firmness and tighten enlarged pores, while Himalayan Pink Salt helps remove impurities to prevent pore enlargement. Additionally, Cypress Tree Extract and Witch Hazel are included to soothe and cool sensitive skin.
Now let’s take a look at the ingredient list. The INCI is quite long and packed with plant extracts. It's free of Alcohol, Fragrance and Essential Oils, which makes it a good option for sensitive skin. Aloe Vera Extract is third on the list, and Centella Asiatica Extract appears ninth, suggesting these are two of the key actives in the formula. Himalayan Pink Salt is listed as "Mineral Salt" and is actually the very last ingredient, which means its concentration is minimal. There are no exfoliants in this cream, but there are plenty of soothing and hydrating ingredients, including Turmeric Root Extract, Witch Hazel Leaf Water, Allantoin, Panthenol, and several forms of hyaluronic acid (Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, and Sodium Hyaluronate). The cream has a light gel texture, no scent, and a slightly pink tint. It comes in a 75ml plastic tube.
My experience
My first impression of this cream was: Wow, it’s so light! But I quickly realized that its feel depends on what I used in the previous steps of my routine. When I applied lightweight products beforehand, the cream absorbed easily and felt very light on the skin. However, when I layered it over heavier products, it didn’t absorb as well. Toward the end of the tube, my routine included more slow-absorbing products, and I noticed the cream took longer to fully sink in. Despite its watery texture, it surprisingly needed some time, which caught me off guard after my initial impressions.
That said, paired with a light sunscreen, this cream kept my skin feeling hydrated and moisturized throughout the day, which is definitely a plus. It’s fragrance-free, feels soothing on the skin, and I had no irritation while using it. I would say it's a solid addition to oily or combination skincare routines, especially if you prefer gentle, non-sensitizing formulas.
As for the brand’s claims about reducing pore size or tightening them — that wasn’t the case for me. I didn’t notice any visible changes in my pores, but to be fair, we know that pore size is mostly genetic, and skincare can't permanently shrink them. Also, I personally didn’t experience any cooling sensation, even though the cream is marketed that way.
Overall, I like this cream. The texture can be a bit tricky — the light gel suggests fast absorption, but it actually has some body to it and works best when used with lightweight products. Still, I think it’s a good option for oily skin types, especially if you're using a simple, fast-absorbing routine. It’s hydrating, gentle, and doesn’t cause irritation — and while it won’t shrink your pores, it can definitely help keep your skin feeling comfortable and well-moisturized.
