MEDICUBE - Zero Pore Blackhead Mud Mask

Gifted by friend

Hi guys. I'm happy to be back to blogging. It took me a while, because life got in the way. I really didn't have the time and space to do it, so I'm more than thrilled to be back and hope to post regularly again.

Today I wanted to share two reviews of products from Medicube Zero Pore Line. I was super lucky to be gifted these products by my friend. She knew how badly I wanted to try this brand, because it has been all over my Social Media. And the positive reviews just hyped me up even more.

Medicube is a sister brand to Aprilskin, which I really like. This Zero Pore Line focuses on pore clearing, tightening and exfoliating. Products from this line are formulated with AHAs, BHAs and PHAs to help exfoliate dead skin cells, clear sebum and minimize the appearance of pores. As we all (hopefully) know the size of your pores is mosty genetic. Nothing can shrink or thight them permanently - that's just marketing. What we can do is to keep them clean of blackheads, whiteheads and sebum. That gives them a clearer look, but wheter they are large or small is just how your skin is.

Let's start with Zero Pore Blackhead Mud Mask.

Medicube advertises this mask as being formulated with 5 types of clays varying in particle size. The idea is that it caters to pores of all sizes and types, providing comprehensive care from blackheads to excess sebum and dead skin.

Let's talk ingredients. First clays. We actually have 6 clays in INCI list: Kaolin, Bentonite, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Canadian Colloidal Clay, Montmorillonite and Illite, with Kaolin and Bentonite appearing among first ingredients. Other key ingredients include exfoliants: AHA (Glycolic Acid), BHA (Salicylic Acid) and PHA (Glucanolactone). Other than that, the INCI list contains various plant extracts, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caffeine and Allantoin. It's free of Alcohol but does contain Essential Oils (Bergamot Fruit Oil, Lemon Peel Oil and Orange Peel Oil) and fragrance components like Limonene.

The mask has a beautiful deep blue color, thanks to colorants like Ferric Amonium Ferrocyianide and Guaiazulene and it has subtle, slightly floral scent. The texture is creamy and a bit runny. It comes in a 100g plastic tube.

My experiance

I love clay masks but I prefer traditional ones, with thicker texture that take some time to fully dry. I'm used to leaving my masks for at least 15 minutes so I can get other things done during that time.

This one is different. I’d call it a quick mask — it dries completely in just 5 minutes. The texture is so creamy that it’s very easy to apply, and I really enjoy the blue color. My little boy even called me "Mama Smurf" 😄. But... it’s so hard to wash off properly. I feel like those blue particles get everywhere — even the sink needs cleaning afterwardAnd here’s the biggest surpriseAfter rinsing it off completely, my pores were almost invisible! Of course, the effect didn’t last long, but it was definitely noticeable. I have to admit — this mask delivered visible results.

Summing up, there are some things I like and some I don’t. While I love the color, it comes from added colorants, and I’m not sure that’s necessary beyond the visual appeal. I’m also not a fan of the long INCI list and the fragranceAt first, I didn’t like how fast it dried, but I grew to appreciate that for a quick skincare routine. I like how my skin feels smooth and clean afterward.

Overall, if you like fast-acting masks that speed up your routine, this one is fun to use and gives visible — though temporary — results. I like it, but I wouldn’t repurchase it.
